
Peiyu refers to a variety of jade wearing by people, which is characterized by smaller individuals. Most of the jade have holes that can be threading. There are many types of Peiyu, more slotted as jade-earring, jade bracelets, Yu-Gang Mao, brand jade, and jade belt, etc. Some are groups wearing, and some are wearing alone. I’m going to introduce them by four passages from now on.

Jade-earring is a slotted earrings, with a shape like small jade wall, but there is a gap. In Neolithic most of the jade are multi-slotted plain without pattern. The Shang Dynasty’s jade-eariring is often slotted as Panlong shapes. The West Zhou’s jade-earring is slotted inclined more to the dragon, cloud, and bird etc. In the Spring and Autumn the slotted jade- earring has smaller shapes, 2-5 cm in diameter. The jade-earring is no longer popular after that period.

Since ancient times, jade bracelets is one of the most basic wristlet. In Neolithic burial there has been unearthed. Dawenkou culture, they was circle bracelets. Jade bracelets for the Spring and Autumn Period is flat round. Tang Dynasty had the gold jade bracelets. To the Song Dynast, jade bracelets had circle rings, with flat cylindrical and plain without pattern. In Ming and Qing Dynasties, Most bracelets were used for decorating such as Lianzhu stripes, rope pattern, and bamboo patterns.
